ParkingEye parking fine

We received a letter this morning from ParkingEye telling us to pay £80 for an hour's parking last Sunday at Crown Wharf, Walsall - which will be £50 if we pay by 08 August.
I have paid it - but since found out that it could be a scam. So now what? I guess I've lost £50?? Poop

Sigh :embarasse
Thanks trisontana; I wish I'd known it sooner - we thought we were being good by paying early so it wouldn't be held against us! Ah well...0 -
How did you pay? If it was by card - tough. If you sent a cheque, and it still hasn't cleared, it's not too late to stop the cheque.LittleAcorns wrote: »I have paid it - but since found out that it could be a scam. So now what? I guess I've lost £50?? Poop

The Slithy Tove: I paid by card :embarasse
Just rang the bank - the payment is in limbo so they can't do anything until it has left the account, however they said that when it does leave we must ring the dispute centre and try and hopefully get it reimbursed. Not guaranteed but worth a try.
We've also cancelled the card it was paid from and arranged for a new one to be sent out with a new number, etc.0 -
Good luck, hope you get your money back. You may want to read a few of the threads on here and then tell everyone you know about Private Parking company robbers. Oh and remember, it's not a "fine".
Hi Ho Silver Awayyyyyyyyyy0 -
You can always sue them, shouldn't be that hard really. Just the reverse of a ppc trying to sue you.For everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
Dont worry, they probably won't process your payment. Not until 9 August and then come back for the £30 and a late payment fee.
We have heard of too many delayed payments for it to be an administrative error every time. Blackmailers always come back for more. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

Didn't Parking Spy get sued in the courts to get some money back, IIRC it was the sister of the person whom got charged and she was a lawyer-in-training (or something)0
