Heat shield required

Options
I have a bathroom light fitting in a pretty enclosed ceiling space, and it is run on a 25v G9 bulb. There is a warning that this gets pretty hot, and so it does, maybe worryingly so.

Is there any material I can use as a heat shield above the unit?

The ceiling gap is just 2cm deep, and the celing only 6'6" high, so I cannot put anything protruding much below.

I'm guessing this is a 25w mains halogen bulb? You could try pinning some tinfoil to the surface above the fitting, if you can access this, but it sounds tricky. I think I would look into replacing the fitting with something that takes a mains LED bulb, which would only be 4-6 watts. Look for the surface mount type. Or I think you can get LED striplights now, though they're a bit pricey!
