After System Restore

Having trouble with the laptop so if I System restore do I have to do all the security updates that had been added after the restore point again.

firefox and Internet Explorer will open but after about 2 minutes stop working. sorry I said it was on my laptop but it was on my 6 year old Dell computer. So I thought I would try System Restore. I am not computer savy.

use a free backup program for ff to copy off all tour bookmarks and paswords etc. Then install ff, then download and re-install a new version. restore your bookmarks etc
