On my last laptop a thread that I had just read would become highlighted so that I could keep track of ones that I had read.
But this new laptop with windows 7 does not.
Is there a way of enabling this feature.
Thanks

It's the same on every forum I go on.
I keep re reading the same threads because the ones I have already looked at, the title of the thread stays the same.
On my other computer the font etc changed to show you had read it.0 -
Just a thought. How are you returning to the list of forum threads? You're not using the back button (view previous page) are you?0
-
well yes, how else do you go back when you have read a reply0
-
I'm also using Windows 7, with Internet Explorer 9.
When leaving a post which I've finished reading (using the back button), the read post is still highlighted. However, if I leave the forum and return, the thread has faded, showing it's been read.
Which browser are you using?0 -
I am using firefox, maybe thats the problem0

Using the back button doesn't refresh the page, so will not show topics as being read. Instead of using the back button, try using the breadcrumb list at the top of the page.
for example, in this forum you would click on Techie Stuff
Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Home & Play > Techie Stuff >
or you could try pressing the F5 button after using the back button, which will force the page to refresh. How do I add a signature?0 -
Oh yes, thanks, f5 does work.
Though it did that automatically on my last laptop0 -
The back button has never refreshed the page in any browser AFAIK, as it is stepping back through the pages you have previously visited and will display them as they were when last loaded. How do I add a signature?0
