It was also because it was a consolidation chain of loans which the OP thought "too complicated" to complain to the Bank about.they didnt pay out for the reasons you intially gave. it was single premium ppi, for that reason alone they paid out.
Obviously, the Bank realised their error in not identifying the failings and paid out accordingly.
Normally, of course, they would have simply reiterated the findings of the original investigation. It's gratifying to see a Bank owning up to it's mistakes for a change.
I'd just add that I did originally advise this in post#2 of the thread;
So, I did give the OP a full list of his options. Unfortunately, the OP chose to focus on my systematic deconstruction of his original complaint which (taken in isolation of the key facts he decided not to tell the bank) was doomed to failure in the first instance.I think you'll have to go the FOS route with this, although you could try writing to the Bank asking them to reconsider based on the single premium.0
