Can You Paint An Extractor Fan

I have an old extractor fan that looks a monstrosity, I have tried cleaning it with bleach to no avail. Is it possible to paint it so it looks decent. I live in a rented house so don't see why I should replace it as it works fine therefore the housing association will not replace it unless its broken Short of getting an electrician that I know to come out and make it unworkable, I thought that painting it might be a good idea. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Yes you can, paint it in with the colour of your walls and it wont stand out as much.
I have always painted these and air vents, as they look better blended in with the wall covering.
If your extractor fan is the shiny type, just give it a rub down with sand paper, so the paint will stick to it better.0 -
Hi,
yes, good idea, I would first give it a coat or two of matt emulsion, or undercoat, and you could get a can of spray paint for final coat.0 -
Yes you can.But i much prefer to paint portraits.0
