We have a flat screen Sony Bravia, about 3 years old, been fine till this week.
The picture has started freezing up for a second, every few minutes, so the overall effect is very jerky, like old movies.
This happens on all channels at all times.
Anyone got any ideas?

I get loads of unexplained glitches with digital TV. I hate it, we didin't need it and I was much happier with analogue. All I can suggest is check your aeriel hasn't moved and is properly aligned and try rescanning your TV.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0

Sounds like a reception issue, as above check your areal:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Are you sure it's the telly?
How do you receive the signal? Sky? Virgin? build in freeview?etc...
Is it the same when a DVD is played.
My guess, like others have said it's the incoming signal and not your telly.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
Don't think it is the signal as the upstairs TVs are fine.
We had the grandkids yesterday and while they were attempting to kill one another over which channel to watch, I saw they'd somehow managed to get onto the set up page while wrestling for the remote. You know, the page that has brightness, contrast, subtitles, etc. and you have to set the levels.
The freezing up happened since then so I'm sure it's something they've done. I've been through it all and restored the settings but still getting the freezing up.0 -
Just because other tvs are ok does not mean it is not aerial.
Each tv tuner has different sensitivity and larger the screen the more likely you will see issues, are the other t s smaller screens?, do you have boosters, splitters for signal? Did grandkids possibly knock cables.
With digital tv if is especially important that cable is attached to connector properly, no stray wires as even a single strand can have a bad effect.0 -
Switching the STB power off/on may cure it.How do I add a signature?0

Seconded - we were recently losing a Sky signal intermittently and getting the message 'No satellite signal is being received'. After a lot of messing about in the settings menu of the Sky box, resetting the LNB etc. I unscrewed the F-plug from the back of the box and stripped it down. The centre single strand wire was oxidised and actually broken at the back of the plug, making the intermittent contact. Inevitable over time I suppose with a heavy stiff cable terminated at a flimsy connector.0 -
Could your digital device need a firmware upgrade ?
Is it more frequent when hot or cold ?0
