Spare wheel on Fiesta
My daughter has just ordered the Fiesta Edge and discovered that Ford ( and some other manufacturers) no longer include a spare wheel. The salesman quoted £300 for a wheel, but did helpfully say that we could get one cheaper on the internet. Now I've done a bit of research on some car forums and read that Ford DO provide a spare wheel as a free optional extra, but some salemen dont know about this. I find this a bit weird, and also, the forum thread was dated 2009. Does anyone know whether this is still valid, is the spare wheel free? Or if not, is it really £300. Or can we get it cheaper anywhere?

Nope, i would go down to the salesroom and cancel the car order, the reason being the car does not have a spare wheel as standard.
There should be no price penalty, the car is incomplete without a usable spare, a can of gunk and a toy pump is not a viable alternative.
Whilst people accept being conned, car makers will continue to do so, just like politicians.0 -

It most certainly does not make the car 'incomplete' and op would not get out of the contract without suffering some kind of financial loss.0 -
It's £95 from the Ford Website when ordering a car, I suggest you go down there and show them that site.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0

My friend bought a Fiesta. Within a week a tyre had split and the gunk they give you just came out the split. She got it recovered by the AA and got anew tyre. The following day she went into the dealer and caused such a commotion in front of other customers that they gave her a spare wheel for nothing.
It's absolutely ridiculous that a a car doesn't come with a sore wheel. Gilbert and Sullivan is right: we are just happy to roll over and accept these things without kicking up a fuss. And these people know that we won't kick up a fuss so carry on doing it.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
I've got a Fiesta, i knew i had a spare but never looked at it for probably 3 or 4 yrs but as one of the tyres had a split in it and the Mot was due i changed them over. But still failed the test, i went back to complain to the Ford garage i'd bought that they'd give me the wrong spare, after a few years i wasn't expecting any help but needed to vent my anger, They told me the wheels that go with the car are only meant for emergencies and will not pass a test.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Just getting this clear . Your Fiesta came with the 'space saving wheel ' and this is the one which failed the MOT ??
If I am correct , did you not notice the difference in size?0
