MOT was issued on the 1st May 2012 and last service was 28th December 2012 and no mention on either document that there was any issues. Only thing on the MOT previous history was break pads replaced as worn back in 2010 but retest the same day so assume the work was done. Have the "new owner" part of the V5 which again says nothing.
Decided to do an Experian autocheck and came back as CAT C damage recorded on 25th May 2012! So just a few weeks after MOT car has been written off by seller who then grabs the cash offered by the insurance company then offloads to the dealer a month later.
I've emailed a copy of the report to the dealer and will phone tomorrow but think it will be going back. Means I'll be without a car which is  but better being safe than sorry.
(MOT certificate and my insurance document was shown at DVLA office by my husband as car seen on the Wednesday, went to collect on Saturday...dealer said he had tried to get tax but as previous owner was disabled had to be done at DVLA office. Taxed on the Monday and no mention by DVLA office there was any issues)0 -
OK, the dealer has broken the law by failing by, "Misleading Omission" to inform you that it was Cat C: The V5C doesn't show it as damaged, you have a duplicate service book and the interior is worn out. By all means hang on to it, but please be sure to let me know when you are looking for a new car, I'm sure I can help you out.
sorry you are talking cobblers, OP has said dealer did an HPIIMOJACAR

It is to check that a stolen car has not been given the identity of one that has been written off.

An 02 plate car will be Cat C for a broken headlight and a dinged wing. They won't have spent hundreds putting a car back on the road to sell to a dealer for £500-£700.0

original poster you mention insurance and mot at local dvla office to tax it but dont mention proof of registered keeper, insurance companies normally ask for log book back, so a bit puzzled here ? did he [husband] fill a form in ?
as a aside some of you may remember i started a thread about saving the local dvla office from closure, forgetting the fact about car wanting a vic can you imagine the trouble this customer would have to go to tax it as it was wrong tax class [ disabled] ? !

Another thread where the OP has bought a second-hand car without commissioning their own HPI report."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Yep, my Vectra has a genuine 36K and has some wear on the top of the steering wheel, plus wear around the interior door grabs, our company 61 plate Micra has done 3k and has a hole worn in the carpet on the drivers side, mainly because my manager was supposed to buy some mats and didn't. On the flip side, My old Astra H estate had 130k on an 06 plate and apart from a small amount of wear on the steering wheel the interior was in pretty damn good nick.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0
