Hi
My husband and I have a small business and have developed a bit of a joke corner in our waiting area.
This is quite a talking point for our customers and we have thought it would be good to start selling a joke disc and donate the profits to a local charity.
We are trying to keep the costs down but would like this to be quite professional.
At the moment the jokes are in Word format and I am looking to find out the best and most widely usable method for these jokes to be displayed.
Are there any programs out there that would make this "Raise and Laugh CD" more professional.
Any hints and tips would be most helpful.
I do hope I have placed this thread in the correct department.

Full size Cds can contain upto 690+ Mb of infornation. Have you considered a website for your business where a selection of your material cold be sampled and its content varied as you see fit.

Even if you did not go for a web-based solution, you could supply a 'website on CD' type of thing.
I would suggest that html format would be the way to go nowadays.0 -
That sounds like a good idea.
Unfortunately I have not done this type of thing before.
Is there anywhere I could go for advices or progams to help with the setting-up of the website on Cd idea. Its better to be late in this life than early in the next one.

If the disc is for charity, I have a load more jokes you can have if you like. I burn them onto disc for friends. The disc I give out contains:
115 Word docs with jokes on.
156 Powerpoint jokes (very good these)
279 Funny pics and cartoons
110 Mini clips and TV adverts (like the type you see on Tarrant on TV)
130 Excel quizzes (needs full version of excel to do them)
I also put the free MS Word and Powerpoint viewer on the disc, so if they don't have office they can still open the jokes.
Let me know if you're interested. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

if i were you i think i would decide on a charity, did you intend on having just written jokes or perhaps some spoken ones? you could contemplate a multiformat disc with set 30 mins stand up style that people could put into a cd player and listen to? im just thinking out loud here?

That sounds like a good idea. If I knew enough about how to do it.
The charity is Children with Leukaemia.
A local man is running in the London Marathon and we are doing this so that local people can help to support him and yet get something that they have been asking us for.Its better to be late in this life than early in the next one.

it maybe worth while contacting a local radio station and asking them, they could prbbaly fit you in with say 30mins of recording time if you are doing this for certain and for charity,,,i'd like to think they would if not invest in a microphone for your pc0
