Help With WTC Understanding

I have just received my award notice for 2012-2013, and getting payments based on last years earnings of £9639.

I informed them in May that my income would be £16,500 this year due to a promotion, and this new amount is documented on the award notice....

I am just wondering, will have to pay this years amount back next year as I'm earning too much now????

Seems strange I was struggling last year, and now being paid more this year when I'm earning more!

Any help would be appriciated.

No, there's a disregard of £10,000 for increases in income from one tax year to the next. So your payments this year will be based on last year's £9639, unless this year's goes over £19639 (if this looks likely to happen give them a ring).

If you're single with no kids/disabilities they'll stop next April.
