I hope I am putting this post on the correct board and that I am not breaking any rules, but I wanted to warn people about the above website.

I placed an order with them on 25th Feb for a milk Frothing Jug. They have taken payment from my credit card (12.45) but I am still waiting for them to process my order.

I have e-mailed the company three times and left a message on their voice mail to ask them why my order hasn't been processed, but to no avail.

it is doubtful I think that I will now receive my jug or indeed a refund, which I asked for if the order couldn't be fulfiled.

I will continue to e-mail them, but in the meantime I urge moneysavers not to use this site because you are likely to lose money.

Thank you

Here are some Trading Standards Tips - for shopping on the internet. Maybe the site has other info about what you can do, if not contact your local trading standards.

  • My brothers a TSO I will speak to him. I think I will e-mail Watchdog as well. It really annoys me when Internet sites do this although I have to say in the five years that I have been buying from the internet this only the second time that I have been burned.

    Thanx for the advice
  • Just wanted to give you an update on my actions since my first post.

I have e-mailed Trading Standards in Bristol (where the comapany is based) and to my local TSO. I also copied this e-mail th thecookskitchen.com. I have also e-mailed the BBC's watchdog.

I have e-mailed the companies Customer Services Manager Charlotte Halsall giving her details of what I have been up to with a promise that I will e-mail her everyday until I get a satisfactory outcome.

The company also subscribe to a consumer website called epubliceye.com where I will also post my message of warning.

I know it is only for a small amount of money but it is my money at the end of the day and if 20 other people have placed an order of a similar value they have made a tidy sum of £249.00 and thats not on.

I will let you know the outcome.

  • I'm just about to bring a small claim against them for an order I made in February and have heard nothing about since.

I'm also just been in touch with Bristol Trading standards.

I've complained via that 'epublic eye' site, who say that they will investigate complaints, but I haven't heard from them either.

Why oh why didn't I pay with my credit card? Then I could have claimed it back from them (and perhaps gone someway to revoking their merchant status).

(I'm samsdad's partner BTW) - well, we received a not very apologetic email from thecookskitchen.com, stating that they'd had "problems with their supplier", but that they could supply our order "next week". We said no thanks, let's have our money back. And, to give them their due, we got the money credited back to our bank account. But only after following it up with several emails, letters, etc. So the words "bargepole" and "don't touch" spring to mind. I must say, this is the first time we've got burned buying stuff on the Internet, so it's not going to put us off by any means, but we will be more careful to check the vent and rip-off boards on MSE in future!
