Hi.

Just after some help really.

I have had a letter back from the tax saying how much I will be getting per week after sending my forms off.

Now, on the letter it explains the summary of working tax credits from 6th april till the 5th of april this year.

Now it says on the letter payments already made by us and then is says underneath amount due to you, and it goes on to say we will pay you £££ does this mean I get the whole sum like a tax rebate? or does it mean they will just carry on paying me per week?

Thanks for taking time to read.

  • Asking on here because I've rang the tax and I've wasted £10 without speaking to a single person.

tax credits are paid either weekly or monthly, so thats how you will get yours. it should say something along the lines of:
    £xxx due on ....
and then every 4 weeks or weekly we will pay you £xxx.

On the back of the page saying the bit in blue I quoted above, it will say how they are going to pay you this money and how much you'll get each week/month. On my TC return this is on page 6.

    It's only a game

  • Cheers.

Just a bit confused, when I got these papers back last year where it said amount Due, they gave me all that money into my bank account as one sum..

Depends what year it refers to, if last tax year then you'll get it as a lump sum (though sometimes they'll take a bit off for any in-year overpayment this year). If this tax year then it's what they'll pay you the rest of the year.
  • Its 2011/2012

It says at the bottom of letter page 4/6

    Summary of payments
Working tax credits to be paid to Mr.. and then my name.
