Extra wide footwear

I have been using Cosy Feet for a few years now, but asomeone mentioned DB Shoes as being far better quality.
Has anyone ever used DB Shoes?

http://www.hottershoes.com/ is very very good, you get them delivered and can sent them back if they don't fit or you don't like them (either freepost, or someone picks them up free of charge) if they're not right. Not had any experiences with any others, as I discovered this one and not had the need to go elsewhere.

    I'm another Hotter fan.
They are the only shoes I wear....I even managed to fnd a pair of ankle boots with them - and if you saw how wide my feet are you'd know how amazing that is!
Their Customer Service is also amongst the best I have found.

Only discovered hotter recently, expensive bot bliss to wear. And as said before amazing customer service! The shoes I likes weren't available in the colour and size I wanted, neither in the shop (Bath) or online, so the shop people contacted all the other outlets and found what I wanted, phoned the details through, and shop in Worthing posted the shoes!
    Brilliant!

http://www.shoetailor.com/shop/ is a cheaper option, often have discounts going. Bit of potluck re quality and need to pay postage, but you can return.

Hotter shoes are OK, I find Clarks shoes more comfortable, but also more expensive.

Marks and Spencer Footglove shoes are IME both more comfortable than Hotter, and cheaper, and their Secret Support slippers are amazing. I find it very hard to wear shoes now -- neuropathy -- but the slippers are great.

I am getting the feeling that nobody has ever heard of DB shoes.
  • I have several pairs of DB Shoes, they were recommended by a podiatrist abd I have been buying them for more than 5 years. They are not cheap but if you keep an eye out they do have sales with good discounts and they last well too. My only complaint is many of their styles are very granny-ish. I wish they would cotton on to the fact that ladies under 60 have wide feet too and produce more wide and comfy but still fashionable styles.

I have very wide feet, I cannot wear shoes from Clarks or M&S as they are too narrow for me. Shoe Tailor etc. are very hit and miss on quality but returns are free so you could do a huge order and may get a couple of suitable pairs. I have some Hotter extra wide shoes but they are a bit too tight and press on top of my big toe ( I plan to buy a shoe stretcher in the hope they can be made more comfy) I also found their sizing unreliable - I bought two pairs of identical shoes in the same size but different colours and one pair fit but the other was much too small. Having said that I am about to try some EEE wide shoes from Hotter and hope they will be a better fit. I am going to order a couple of sizes to get best fit as you only lose £2.20 for each pair you return. For me, I don`t mind paying that bit extra in order to get shoes that suit me. Hotter do have shops so if you are lucky to live near one you would be best off calling in.

If you want to ask any more about DB Shoes please feel free to PM me.

  • You could find it easier and cheaper if you are OK about more masculine styles to have a look at the men's shoe section.

After all, brogues and lace ups seem to be popular, driving shoes are very comfortable, and trainers seem to be better made in the men's ranges (Nike is often extremely wide fitting, Adidas more of a stretch to fit, IYSWIM)
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
