I did a couple of courses to help me in my OS living, and have just signed up for another.
I've did a one day course on Crochet (but I think I need a longer one to master it), and I've just finished a year long course on Herbalism and learnt some nice traditional remedies.
In September i'm starting a 11 week Breadmaking course - so excited!
Has anyone else been inspired to take a course, or planning on taking one? What have you/ will you do?

I did a basic DIY course a few weeks ago. Showed us how to prepare a room for painting and then paint it properly, how to change a tap washer, unblock a sink or toilet, put up shelves and other useful things.0

I would LOVE to do a soap making course!0 -
I did a basic car maintenance course.I'm not that way reclined
Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0 -
what a great idea ,I wish our local council did something similar it would be lovely to have a 'taster day' to see if you fancied doing something different.Sadly our local Adult ed is being closed down and sold off for the cash strapped council.the few classes there are have been 'outsourced' to a different part of the borough and not too many of those either. Its 6 miles to Rochester from where I live and to get there in the evening is a bit difficult as I never know for sure what time DD and her OH is home from work (I look after four of my DGS after school)and I have theem from 08.00 in the morning until I take them to school so getting there first thing is impossible.Shame really as I would like to have had a go at perhaps upholstery and everyday maintanace for the house.Still the library is still open (for the moment anyway) so I get books from there and figure things out as best I can0

I did an 'Introduction to Sewing' course earlier in the year to learn how to use a machine, i'd only been able to do basic hand-stitching until then. This was followed by a basic pattern-cutting course and i'm starting another sewing & dressmaking course in September :j
I also did a one day soft furnishings course on cushions and i'm hoping to do the curtains one soon. In feb next year i'm doing a one-day workshop on making Rag rugs.
Crochet i taught myself watching Youtube vids (Art of Crochet by Teresa & The Knitwitch are fab). I belong to a craft group that meets every month where some of the ladies are very patiently helping me with knitting (can't get the hang of 2 needles rather that one hook lol) Card making is just something i like to do, i got a stack of card making mags at a car boot a while back which are good for inspiration.
Cooking, baking and other frugal ways have been taught to me by a mixture of my Mam, Gran and the fantastic people on this forum who have helped so much since i first joined 8 years ago () DD was 3, she'll be 11 soon, where does the time go??!

River Cottage have some fab looking courses, from memory they do beach/rockpool foraging, line fishing and preparing seafood etc. They are expensive and too far away for me, otherwise I would love it! ike JackieO, the local college have had to put up costs due to funding cuts and a lot of the interesting courses have been scrapped altogether.0

I did cake decorating and now make cakes for everyones bdays instead of paying loads of money for fun cakes. Plus I now make cakes for peoples bdays as presents, so this saves me a fair bit, and I enjoy it too.
Am going to do another cake course soon.
I'd love to do some sewing courses too, and make my own patchwork quilts/as presents as these are so expensive! We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.
