Bedminster has some lovely areas, prices are definitely creeping up there. It was on our short list when we were buying.
OP, I don't think there is any area I would tell anyone they shouldn't live in. Some area have bad reps like Southmead, Hartcliffe, Knowle West, Easton , St Pauls but each has their charm as well and will be right for some people. I know people who live very happily in all these areas.0 -
I grew up in Shirehampton and it's great, brilliant for access to the centre with the Park and Ride. Some parts of Henbury/Brentry are good too with reasonable prices, and I've got two brothers living in Bedminster who'd thoroughly recommend it. Another vote against Easton here though, and I'd probably steer clear of all but the very outskirts of Southmead.Team Pink! Baby girl due 25/5/140

I lived in Bedminster for about 3 months and while you could walk into town, it did take 45 minutes to Temple Meads and nearly an hour to the bars on the Waterfront. Maybe I'm biased having lived at Kingsdown for a year beforehand and being used to the 10 minute walk to town! You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0

I live in Eastville, which is a couple of miles from the centre of town so pretty handy, and also close to the Bristol-Bath cycle track, which is ideal for cyclists. We have a beautiful big park with a lake, and you can walk through along the river Frome and it is like being in the middle of the countryside.
We do have a problem with prostitution, but if you live away from the main road it's not that visible.
House prices are cheaper than most of Bristol, mine is probably worth about £130K.0
