courier for long thin item? update

My usual courier (payperdrop ) won't take parcels longer than 120cm and I need to send some rowing oars, they are around 300cm long, anyone know of a courier that will do odd shapes?

Not sure precisely what the restrictions are with Royal Mail, but I work in a newsagents attached to a post office and I see some very odd shapes being posted sometimes!! Seriously, it must be worth a try.

i use these people as well, little bit more expensive but they have been spot on so far and i think it says in there terms and conditions that the package must be no longer than 3m, they have used parcelforce each time i have used them:

hopes are dashed Porkev - the longest dimension allowed is 1.5 metres so the search goes on.

not many couriers will carry over 1.5m...but I think Parcelforce go to 3m....

Dashed again - both Standard Parcels and Parcel Force only take 1.5 metres too

just had a look on a marine website, and they say they use ANC for items greater than 1.5m up to 3m....
