Hi guys,
1st post!
Wondering if anyone can help...
I'm looking to go to the USA next year for a bit of sight seeing. I found a 15 day greyhound discovery pass for £230 on their website.
Does anyone have any experience of this or know if there's a cheaper place to buy these? Also, does anyone have info on motels, etc and what to expect there?
Also, what time of year is cheapest to go to the USA and to which airport, also, from which UK airport is the cheapest?
I know it's a lot of questions but any help would be appreciated!

Depends on where you want to go. Flights to the North East (DC, NYC, Boston, Philly) are typically cheapest in Jan/Feb but that's when the weather is at its worst so you may get snowbound for days at a time.
You really need to work out a planned route to make sure that you would get sufficient value from the passes. For some routes such as DC to NYC and NYC to Boston there is a very competitive coach market and you can get very cheap fares locally (I've had Boston <-> NYC for as little as $20 return). For longer routes it's usually less hassle to fly.
Travelling by bus in the US is an interesting experience. You certainly get to meet some characters...0
