Tumble dryer outside?

Hi, we're having problems drying clothes in the house. Our kitchen is tiny and there's no room for a dryer. We have a washer/condensor dryer but it is useless! OK for single items but even a half load will still be damp after two hours drying.
So I was thinking of putting a second hand tumble dryer in the back yard. I'd be placing it in an area that is enclosed on three sides (downstairs bathroom wall on one side, yard wall on the other two) and has a roof. I keep my bike in there at present, it's completely dry even in torrential rain. The area is about 3m long by 1.5m wide.
From the nearest plug in the kitchen to the covered area is about 5m. I'd intend to run a fully unwound heavy duty cable (as short as possible) with RCD out the kitchen window, only when the dryer is in use.
I realise this is very far from ideal, but is it safe enough?

Yes, you realise the issues of coiled wire and have rcd protection so should be ok.
Security wise I assume the window will be in a locked position?
But if this is going to be long term, then install an outdoor weather proof socket in the area.
And the real money saving answer, if the area is completely dry as you say, is to hang them out to dry???I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
The window only swings open 2-3 inches, so should be ok.
Yeah an outside socket is probably best long term, once finances allow. (Engagement ring just cleared me out!)
I do have a washing line but not in the covered area. Our sodden Belfast weather doesn't make for good drying conditions!
Thanks for your help. :beer:0
