I just want to warn people about these guys. I am not personally using them (I am not their client) but they represent someone buying a house from me and we are all receiving the most incompetent unprofessional and rude service I have ever come across. Examples of this:
- They have a customer services line (which they give to the other side's Lawyers too) which they allow to ring and ring and rarely answer.
- When they do answer, which is rare, they have been known to put the phone down on someone half way through a conversation.
- They were not aware that they were in receipt of over £60,000 of client money (they denied they had it) and then magically found it two days later.
- They sat on a very basic purchase contract for weeks and weeks and said they had sent it to their client for signature when they hadn't.
- They raised local searches late and hardly asked any questions at enquiries stage -they are asking them now, when we are pressing to exchange.
- They refuse to exchange even though their client asks them to (ignoring client instructions).
Surprisingly they were veyr prompt at getting back to me when I requested a bogus callback for a quote for a new job....
These guys are incompetent. I am sure they are cheap, but they are typical "pile it high and sell it cheap" merchants. I understand they also have other "claims" type business where I have seen threads that they cold call. They are ambulance chasers.
Avoid them like the plague.....

These solicitors are acting for the man selling his flat to my son. So far it has been nearly 6 months and we have still not exchanged. We are seriously thinking of pulling out in which case he will lose his sale and purchase as whole chain will collapse but we could have bought elsewhere and be moved in by now. They sit on all paperwork it is absolutely disgraceful that they can get away with it0

They sound like a right shower! Have you reported them to the SRA (Solicitors' Regulation Authority, a part of The Law Society)?

Best wishes. x0 -
I am a distressed mother of 4 very young children. My husband found these solicitors and it wasn't because they were cheap it was because he used them for a business purchase which fell through half way.
I can't believe that looking at the dates on previous messages and now 2013 nothing has changed. Exactly the same problems where they dont return calls, sit on your case, never chase up matters and let them just hang on and even try to sell you their fast track option yet there is no such thing. They never investigated my stamp duty I had to do this myself instead they referred me to one of their inhouse save stamp duty service without my permission.
It has been weeks and yet I still don't know if I will complete or not on time. I have handed in my notice to my landlord and will soon become homeless with my children. However I will not give up and yes I am taking the matter further to the SRA as I feel this is not the way people should be treated. It equally says on their own website that it should be a stress free fast process however ARC should re word this to We are relaxed bunch opf solicitors and we will do things at our leisure and your cost.
I can't believe how stressed we have been in this whole matter yet the sellers who are also buying managed to sort their purchase out in less time and stress. I so regret it and I have learnt my lesson always google before your purchase any service and read the reviews to save hassel in the long run. Yes its March 2013 and nothing has improved with ARC solicitors service.0
