Anyone ever had Hypnotherapy?

Options
As above, I have 2 fears/phobias and wondered if anyone had ever had hypnotherapy and if it worked? My opinion is still out on it, and was after some feedback really

Thanks all

Hypnotherapy can be a great tool for change. I would recommend getting a good therapist though

I was off work last year for almost 5 months due to WRS, and my Dr referred me to a hypnotherapist. I had 7 sessions in total and I have to say I've never looked back. Helped me with a lot of things in my mind that I didn't even realise I needed help with!! lol.

If you're in Northern Ireland I can pass on the details.

My mum had hypnotherpy for issues with the post about 18 months ago. She use to panic over it every day. If she was away she couldn't relax till she got home and knew it was all ok.

She is a lot better with it now and does get worked up like she use to.

The therpist also said she could help with her fear of snakes but my mum isn't quite ready for that one yet lol

Hope you find a good one who can help you :)

There is a hypnotherapists registrar but tbh i wouldnt take that as a sign of a good therapist

I'm a hypnotherapist and some people i know that practise hypnotherapy and are on that registrar ... Well put it this way the client would need therapy after visiting the hypnotherapist

I would go by word of mouth and then phone the therapist and ask questions ... See how confident they are in dealing with your issues .. How many sessions etc ... See how u feel about the individual

I had it about 20 years ago for panic attacks and it worked for me back then. The panic attacks stopped being invasive but i still have them from time to time.

I think phobias are different though. Try and ask your GP to recommend one for you maybe.

I had it about 20 years ago for fear of flying, 3 sessions and I am the most relaxed flyer ever, prior to the therapy I would get anxious even seeing a sign to the airport. Highly recommended.

Word of mouth/recommendations are always good, but you may well not know anybody who has seen one. Please make sure you go for someone who is registered/accredited. http://www.bsch.org.uk/

    Hi everyone
I've spoke to a local guy who was highly recommended, helped smokers stop and a plane fearing woman fly in single sessions, and after doing some research online found he is very highly qualified in the industry (if it's called that?)
Was recommended a single session with 95% chance of success, and a free 2nd session if no joy the first time round. What is a realistic fee may I ask? I was slightly taken aback by his price

I've no idea how much my guy was as I was referred via my Dr, but I did see an offer on Groupon for him a couple months ago and it was reduced to £80 per session...
