Am running firefox v13. When i click on 'open a new tab' a new page appears showing which websites i have been on before. How can i prevent firefox from showing what pages i have been on before?
(no i do not visit adult websites lol, just don't want other users seeing what i have been up to on facebook etc ;-) )

Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way

1) on Start button, move the mouse to the edge triangle over where firefox is displayed an choose Enter Private Browsing.
2) on the menu bar under tools select Syart Private Browsing.
3) press Ctrl + shift + p
4) very private browsing - use the tor portable bundle0 -
Just set Firefox to Never Remember History. Or stop being paranoid, why do you think it would show what you've been doing on Facebook, it'll just show that you've been on it, hardly the crime of the century?0

As per santers post.
Did this the other day and works fine0 -
Open a New Tab and in the top-right corner you'll see a grid icon, click it.0

By default, FF 13 shows 9 thumbnails of exactly what was on the screen, so you can literally see what they were looking at - though small text is generally too small to read.
What Mista_C says is true, but anyone (with bad intent) who knows this just needs to click on the grid themselves to get it back!
Having said that, if you've got someone with bad intent sat at your keyboard you're probably in trouble anyway...0 -

Funnily enough I've just had to do this in reverse to get the newpage feature working on upgrade to FF 13 - the thumbnails weren't showing.
I like this feature, especially as my home page is now about:newtab
