CUE will only show if your dad has had any claims.

If you are totally upfront with a new company then they should have no reason to contact your previous insurer. As Inside said people do add bedrooms occasionally so you shouldn't have to much of an issue.

If he's not shopping around for his insurance, you can probably find correct 4-bed insurance for the same as he's paying for 3-bed insurance.

Dont they ask how many rooms in total?

Did he miss the extra room out on that also?

I don't know what he declared, he just told my mum when he was filling it out that the fourth bedroom was so small he wasn't going to classify it as a bedroom, so I assume he didn't put it down as a room at all. He's probably got the rest of it wrong too. I'm waiting for the right moment before I am able to ask him about it!!

    1. If we change insurers (and insure it properly) would they know that the house was previously insured as only three bedroom?

    2. I also suspect he's not getting the best rate anyway. He probably bought the insurance from a door to door salesman, he usually buys whatever tat they've got going.
    1. No.

    2. What a chump. He's telling lies to get a better deal from someone conditioned/ limited to charge him more either way.

We desperately need a Martin Lewis "facepalm" smiley, along with the usual "roll-eyes" option.

I need a Martin Lewis inflatable mallet I can whack him over the head with. This is only one in a long line of 'money saving' measures that has ended in disaster, the only difference is this time we haven't had the disaster yet. I am sure it's coming.

I've only just sorted out his ISA fiasco.
