in Credit cards
Hello,
Am peed I have done really well over the last 7 years to get my credit back to a decent level, I still have bad credit cards which is all I can obtain.
done pretty well with these cards always paid them apart from June of this year when I accidently paid the wrong card and end up paying my other one twice my fault and I take the stick, but with my last default coming off that month too I was about to try and get a better rate nothing brilliant just say half of what am paying know, which is 40% apr and I have been on that rate for 3.5 years.
also on checking my file it seems I had an arrears from T-Mobile one of my old phone contracts and was coming up as number 2 which means two payments missed now this was feb12 how long does this affect me ???
It’s been all clear since but should this account of been closed as I no longer use it??
am I right in thinking I would have to wait 6 months or is it longer as the is conflicting reports on the internet saying 12 months and some even saying 3 years now I would find that a little harsh but I think these credit are tough
and before anyone says why didn’t I do direct debt I refused as i have had problems with these in the past with my pay dates never beaning the same and missing them then getting charged double whammy by the bank and the creditor so I know pay all my bills on payday over hell I even pay some ahead lol
Mistakes do happen just unfair that it should affect that much
so any help or advice I will be grateful
Kindest Regards,
Stephen

Hello I have know got reply back from t-mobile, they have said there sorry for any inconvenience caused and have closed the account as satisfied but the default payment would have to remain as this is true reflection of the account.
What can i do next ?? i think the best i can do is add a notice of correction and just keep my other accounts up to date and review in 12 months.
in the mean time i shall keep writing to t mobile as i think its unfair 5 years of no missed payments, even the guy in collections said it was harsh but for whatever reason i have not paid the final bill and they are only reporting the truth. my argument of not knowing about the bill doesn't seem to matter.
Is the anything i can actually do with regards to this ???
any help or suggestions would be grateful

They will remain on your file for 6 years from the date they were issued. As to how long they will be considered relevant, is upto the lender you are attempting to obtain credit from.0

how would you say it was correct when my contract was finished in Nov 11 when number was passed to three network and final bill was paid on this date.
this missed payments are from jan and Feb which is the month i knew about the outstanding balance when collections called me!!
if i have know about the the outstanding £21 i think i would of pay it!!
so how is their information correct ???
please enlighten me as you appear so smart!!! (sharpy 2010)
PS a notice of correction is to explain in a non defamatory way of why their was missed payments on the account.
thank you Matt i knew that lets hope its just 12 months
regards,
Stephen0
