private parking ticket should i pay

i parked my car in small car park, permit holders only which has lots of signs and cctv camera.
The only reason i left it there was my sons mother who owns flat in high rise but rents out told me to,so was completely oblivious to signs.the penalty is 40 pound should i pay.thanks

Its Legal Theft - but unless you had the rights to park there you are on a loser. I'd just pay and save the agro.

This is wrong. Please read the sticky.

I've had 3 or 4 letters so far, just had my first solicitor letter, they are all nicely filed for kindle on bonfire night. I'm expecting one or two more before they go away. :)

Bremner, The fair city of Perth's resident scammers. Best ignored, along with post #4.

They were apparently patrolling the new Asda in Inverness this week, despite there being no parking restrictions posted when my friends were there.

Nope, CCTV/images have no meaning in the context of private parking at all. Even in legit enforcement this is the bottom of the evidential chain and everything else needs to be in order first. :)
  • yeah read lots and my understanding is they never go to court because they cant prove who was driving but with cctv was worried .And thats strange my only debt is mortgage nearly exactly the same and have border collie but crossed with lab:eek:
  • thanks i like your spirit:T
