Home insurance for a house that has flooded in the last 10 years

Hello

I am in the process of buying a house and since having an offer accepted and going through searches etc the property flooded die to the local water authority not maintaining a pump properly.

Now I am trying to get home insurance and all the companies have tried will not insure us.

Does anyone know of any companies that insure houses that have recently flooded

Some mainsteam companies will consider cover if there has been something done to prevent future flooding and a certain time period has passed since the last incident.

You may have to accept a higher excess for flood claims.

Find out who the vendor's home insurance is with - the same company will normally continue cover for a new owner. Phone the company and point out that they already insure the house.
