Parking Eye Notice - Sorry for the noobness of the question

Hi,
Received a Parking Charge Notice today from Parking Eye. I overstayed the time limit by 10 minutes. I obviously deserve the parking fine, but I was checking out the company online and there are posts after posts saying not to pay.
Does this advice still stand? If so if I ignore the letters would the unpaid fine go on my credit rating?
I don't want to get in trouble but I don't want to spend £50 when I don't have it spare.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Kay

You deserve the fine?
What were their losses? This isn't a penalty issued by a council to deter incorrect parking on the public highway in order to ensure smooth traffic flow. This is a charge for losses from a car park owner's pet parking company.
You legally owe them the cost of parking for the additional 10 mins. You DON'T owe them £50, which is supposed to be a representation of the losses the car park owner incurred as a result of your indiscretion.
The advice still stands. Ignore them, and all their scary threat-o-grams. They cannot affect your credit rating without taking you to court, winning, and you still refusing to pay up.
They won't take you to court though, because legally they haven't got a leg to stand on, and what's more they know it.
Oh, and its not a fine. No private company or individual has the statutory power to fine anyone. That's reserved for a court.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Nothing has changed.
Simply ignore them and check the forum sticky to see the letters they will send you and simply tick them off till the end of the scam.

Mrs theHibby has ignored this mob 3 times now with no comeback. Which is a shame because I'd love to represent her in court. :-(0

Thanks very much, been a great help.
My 20 year old niece is currently ignoring 3 of these on my say-so!! She texted me with glee the other day when she got another one! :rotfl:
As others have already said, you are not liable to pay and you must not 'appeal' either. This is a private company with an unsolicited invoice, dressed up to impersonate a parking ticket. Useful links:
Tick off the threatening letters Here.
Watchdog clip with expert Solicitor's opinion here.
Barrister's opinion here.
Please follow and read those links, now, so you know what it's all about and can just play a nice game of snap with the template threatogram letters.
Nothing else will happen, there is NO EFFECT ON CREDIT RATING. It really is just like deleting a series of phishing emails and is certainly NOT a 'fine'.
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
