Primus - no welcome email

Hope this hasn't been covered elsewhere:

On Monday I rang Primus to sign up to their saver option 2 plan. I was given a start date of 10th April and was told to expect a welcome email, but it hasn't turned up. I've checked my spam folder, and rung them twice to double check they have my email address correct. They've re-issued the email each time but it still hasn't put in an appearance.

I'm a bit concerned about this since
(a) it may mean I'm not signed up (how do I check, come 10th April, whether my calls are being routed correctly?)
(b) if this email hasn't arrived, will my billing emails arrive?

Has anyone else had a problem?

Thanks,

tiptoe

PS On the plus side, I've signed up to 18185 and it's working well. Great for when I call my local council and get put on hold for 15min.

I was just going to ask the same question, apart from, I signed up on-line and have heard nothing at all.
  • I switched to Primus through USwitch. Had an email from uswitch confirming the changeover and even a letter from BT but nothing from Primus. Finally phoned Primus and they confirmed the account had been up and running from the date stated by uswitch. I asked them to send me an email with my account details which I did receive.

Have to say that although Primus have a great product there seems some simple lack of CS at times and you are not the only 1. I have recomended 15 people, some have had emails some not. My only suggestion would be to call them and ask to speak to Daniel. He should keep you right!!

    Thanks all,

It seems obvious to ring them of course, but as always you assume you will get information via email, an account number. When you don't, well you don't have much information to tell them when you ring up.

No doubt, now I've said an email will come through.

This seems prety normal for Primus. I know several people who have switched but didn't get an email. Just phonoe them up and ask.
  • The thing is, I have rung them - twice. Each time I've been assured that an email should be on it's way. I have now emailed them from their website.

I got a letter this morning from BT informing me that I've switched my calls provider (although it doesn't mention primus by name). This letter suggested I would get a letter from primus - can anyone confirm this is the case?

Intriguingly, BT said my calls would be rerouted as from the 4th April - 6 days earlier than primus advised.

Looking forward to saving some money, just not clear whats going on.

BT have got there act together and I am sure Primus still cannot belive that they can get customers from BT. It is unnerving with nothing from them except verbal promises. Have you asked for Daniel? did you get him? Make sure that they get him to call you back asap if not;)

    ...

I meant phone them and ask if they have received your application and when your switch over date is. I never got my email so I phoned and asked if they had received my application (via uSwitch) and when the go-live date was, which they told me. The switch went ahead fine and I still haven't received my email :D

Me too - signed up on 18th March and heard nowt. Called them today and they asked for my account no. - which they hadn't given me! They said it's fine and could take up to 5 more days.

It doesn't fill you with confidence of their service :(
  • Update:

I got an email today from primus with my account number and a go live date which agrees with BT's. Apparently a welcome pack is in the post as well. It also said I could dial 1457 as a prefix to route calls through them in advance of the switch.

I'm now reassured that things should work.
