How long should it take for Santander to get back to me ?

On the 20th July I applied for the Santander 123 Cash Back credit card, and at the end of the application, it said "save this reference number as we will need it when we get back to you". Its now the 26th and I've heard nothing since, no phone calls, emails or letters.

Surly even if I was declined, they'd let me know sooner than later, and they never left any number for me to call to check my application process.

Any idea, why they havn't got back to me, or anyone who has a Santander credit card, how long they took to get back to you ?

I applied for the card a few weeks ago. Took just over a week before a letter (containing a sod off) arrived

Did they say why you were rejected at all ?

Usual credit scoring. Not surprising really as my credit file isn't the greatest due to problems in the past and my other credit cards are sub prime however I thought I would give it a go as santander recently approved me for a 123 current account so I thought it was worth a try and I have held my sub prime cards for a while now

Call them. When I was declined TWICE for a Santander cc 3 years ago (despite being "pre-approved" on the system and the second guy promising he would personally speak to the underwriter and get me approved (liar)), they didn't send me anything.

TBH I expect you've been declined unless you can see it on your online banking today. Or if you can see a direct debit set up on whichever current account.
