MPPI and Aviva

Hi all,
Any thoughts on this appreciated. Have had an MPPI claim for last year due to being made redundant. Taken through Nationwide and now managed by Aviva. Anyhow, on the anniversary of the claim ( 12 months) they have called and written to me asking lots of questions about my job search activities etc, as well as asking for consent to contact DWP, my former employer and HMRC. Also told me that they have the right to keep investigating me for 6 months after the claim stops. I have not had any work during that time and have been on JSA throughout but just intrigued by their timing. Why wait a year? Is this normal practice or are they looking for some kind of loophole now to say the claim was invalid?

Why don't you ask them why they need it?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Generally cases are reviewed at a set frequency, the longer they go on the more in depth the review as the less cases you get like it.
As long as all is above board there is little to worry about0 -
Thanks for that. All is above board but just wondering why at this late point they're starting to look at the claim. My last payment due is next month anyhow. They called me for about half hour asking detailed questions all about job search and then sent me letter out with same questions listed. When I queried that, was told they just want my answers in writing although they had already details of answers from their phone call. Found that strange to be honest. All in order at my end but you know how it is - makes you start to doubt yourself when you''re told they are investigating your claim. Especially after all this time. Thanks for advice though0

My ex used to work in PPI claims and they had policies with 12, 18, 24 and 36 months maximum payouts and the same process had to be used for all of them irrespective that for a max 12 policy it was the last payment -v- a max 36 where you would be less than a 3rd of the way through.
That at least is what the instructions were and what staff were monitored on doing, reality being people possibly were a little more relaxed on final payments than those on max 360
