Tax credits and childcare for 2 children

Hi
I will soon be putting in a claim for WTC and childcare as my new job starts soon.
I beleive you can apply for help with childcare costs for up to £175 for one child or £300 for 2 children.
Turn 2 us just asks for one whole figure but as my eldest is in full.time school his childcare fees will only be around £40. Yet my youngests will be about £204. This is per week.
How to tax credis calculate this? Do.they use the total figure or do.they seperate the amounts?

Add together what it will cost you per week for both boys and stick that amount in. So yours would be £244 a week.

    That's what I'd do anyway! x

You have to put how many children you get the childcare for though don't you, so if you say 2 children, they will use the higher amount, or they should do x

I'd just put in what you think is right. Don't forget, when you get your award letter, if anything is wrong on it, you can always ring them up to change things x
