Colour advice please

The other half and I can't agree on flooring for our new kitchen so I thought I'd ask for opinions here.

The units have a high gloss white finish and the worktops are black granite.

We have a black slate floor in the adjoining room which shows every dog hair. So black is out of the question. The white tiles were all just a slightly different shade of white from the units. I would choose a wooden floor but we have solid oak elsewhere in the house and it just isn't hardwearing enough with the dogs nails.

As we have 6 dogs and 4 kids we need something extremely hardwearing. I don't want to waste money on a floor which will look worn in a few months. I'm thinking it needs to be porcelain tiles but which colour?

I wanted grey DP isn't so sure so I'll let him know I'm not the only one that thinks it's a good idea.

I love the idea of big limestone tiles, although I don't want the hassle of having to seal the tiles so real limestone is out. Do you think the cream of limestone will match then as this is DPs preferred colour choice?
