Hiya guys, i just wanted to share our mini holiday we have planned for September.
In January we planned where we were going to take the kids away, we decided Lego land for a day then the next day up to Liverpool to visit anfield. so since then I have been constantly planning and scouring the internet for the best deals....
So this is how its working out cost wise,
Day 1, travel down to slough (from north east) and stay in a premier inn, to be fully rested for the busy day ahead, cost of hotel £35 rrp £60ish
Family of 4 into Lego land rrp £160ish, with half price vouchers £86ish, but i went on eBay. With thanks to the sun holidays doing their recent Lego land promo for free tickets, thousands of people have tickets they don't wish to use, I managed to bag 4 tickets to Lego land for £26.87. :T
Spend all day in Lego land making the most of every second, (with a budget for the gift shop) then after it closes its a drive up to knutsfort (just outside Liverpool) to stay in a travel-lodge £12
Checkout and travel to Liverpool stadium, where I managed to find a half price code on here so instead of £41.00 for a family of four Ive got it for £20.50
I plan to maybe take packed lunches to eat in the ques while waiting for rides, also on the way from Windsor to Liverpool will be stopping off at my brothers house for flask refills and toilet breaks
Also other half's car is a Diesel and we've managed to get from northeast to Milton Keynes on a £40 tank, so petrol shouldn't be too expensive
So how do you think I have done ?
Also if you have any tips that could help keep the cost down then by all means share

Fantastic sounds like you'll have a great time!!
If you find some time left in Liverpool after or before your tour the musem is fantastic... it's great for keeping the kids busy with an aquarium and fantastic planetarium with great shows on.
Hope you all have a great time!!A lot of fellows nowadays have a B.A., M.D., or Ph.D. Unfortunately, they don't have a J.O.B."0 -

Just back from legoland and have to say you need to budget lots for the gift shop

We had temps of 32oC whilst we were there and we had soon drunk everything we had taken. Found the cheapest drink to be had was the £5 refill. You bought the drinks container for £5 (advertised at £6) and just refilled. We shared the one between the three of us and must have had it refilled about 12 times0
