Not really wedding related...but stressed!

I persuaded H2B to buy my engagement ring off ebay, looked a complete bargain and had contact with the seller who was lovely.

H2B has still not officially proposed, though I suspect it will happen over the weekend as my parents are visiting on Sunday, and he wants to ask my dad first (wedding mostly planned though, sure we got the order wrong somewhere...)

Anyway, the seller was selling for a friend, and it was sent Royal Mail Tracked, which promises delivery by 1pm. H2B stayed in all morning, no ring, and now completely stressing out about it. He has had to go out for about half an hour, so if it comes now then it will go back to the depot

Does anyone have any expereince with this service? I am waiting on the seller to send me the tracking number, be she has said she is worried about it...

I built myself up so much for getting it today, getting myself in a right state

Sent the seller a polite message saying something along the lines of ...
Hi...purchased your item on....and was hoping to have received it by now as it was being sent tracked...could you please confirm when you sent the item and supply the tracking number so that I may track online

Ive had this type of thing happen a few times,and its quite flustrating as a buyer because you want to receive the item but as a seller they sometimes dont actually post the item as quickly as you would have liked....its possible that a message to the seller will remind them to take it to the post office today and you should get it tomorrow

I've contacted the seller, who confirmed it should have been with me today, fingers crossed the tracking number comes through soon, tearing my hair out!

If they have not supplied you with the tracking number then its my guess they havn't sent it yet....if they have taken the time to say it should be with you then its not that difficult to add the 12 or 16 digit tracking number to the reply message....

I expect you will find that it is received tomorrow as they are at the momnent hotfooting it down to the post office!

Agreed insist on their giving the tracking number! But whatever happens do not panic! What is the worst that can happen? Just breathe deep and wait.

We got my lovely ring on ebay too - absolute bargain ( about 7 times cheaper than jewelry store). Best of luck and post pictures when you finally have it on your finger! ( we had to have mine resized and it fits so well now and I love it!)

The seller said royal mail tracked, which I have never used, wish they had just used special delivery!

Apparently she will send me the tracking number once she gets home from work...we will see.

Know I will love it when I see it, just got myself all excited about seeing it tonight :S

Tracked is a business only service
either 24 hr/48hr delivery.

That's what I thought when I googled it! It was an individual, so unless she can do it from work, but then why would she have the details at home...very confusing, perhaps she meant special delivery...

Here's hoping I can post tomorrow about how it's arrived and I love it

A promise of delivery by 1pm sounds like special delivery to me.

Maybe she posted it too late yesterday, for the promise of being posted by 1pm today, that's happened to me before.

Fingers crossed she will send you the tracking number and it will be with you tomorrow before 1

Did she tell you it would be there by 1 or are you inferring that yourself because you've assumed she's used Special Delivery?

She could have used Royal Mail Signed For, which gives you a tracking number but is just like posting first class. So 1-3 days.
