IVA - Now I am free!
Options
Hi (originally posted in the wrong forum)
I wanted to post some positive news for those who are thinking about IVA or scared of the consequences of it. I had no option but to go through an IVA on my own after some personal issues. It took me years to resolve and I got a bonus from Work and a pay increase and all that money went to pay my creditors off (shy of 15% of the total figure) In 2006 I was signed off my IVA and became debt free, no credit cards or loans I paid for cash on everything and built up some savings.
I managed about 3 years ago to persuade my bank, whom I had been with for 20 years to let me have a small over draft and Debit Card to start to help with my credit rating.
Today I am happy to say I landed a mortgage for a house I am buying (reposession) with the Nationwide and its a good deal , through an IFA who can access all the Market. I was overjoyed more that I could actuallly get a mortgage than the fact I had got a house :j
Dont get me wrong plenty of bad days, upset days, scary days but got there in the end and it was a long journey but worth it in the end
