I was at a wedding a couple of weeks ago and was bare-headed. I was wearing a sari so anything else with it would have been OTT I reckon.
Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.
  • What everyone else has said - wear what you feel comfortable in. If you don't want to wear a hat or a fascinator then you don't have to, and if you were a guest at my wedding I would rather you wore what you wanted and had a good time than worried about whether what you were wearing was 'right'.

If you want to check though maybe ring up the bride and see if there's a specific dress code.

Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")
Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")

I demanded that one of my best friends wore a hat for our wedding or else she was barred, as I'd worn one for her wedding the previous year :D

I always wear a hat - even for a hotel wedding - but then again I do like wearing hats :)

went to a wedding in Mexico on friday and they don't do hats if you know a friend of relative of the couple why not ask if its something the couple would like. personally for ours we don't mind as long as people are comfortable
