Opening a new bank account

Hi there, I had defaults to Bank of Scotland from 2005, I was trying to open another account, as I did have a good record before the defaults. Will they still have this on record, Thanks Pat

    They stay on record for 6 years after closing the account though most will only actually look at the last 5-6 years of activity with the focus being on the last few years

    Did you pay off the debts? If not, you'll always be at risk of them digging out the archives, discovering your debts, and swiping the money you owe them.
