Very Charges

Not sure if this is in the wrong place, so apologies if it is.

I have an account with Very which I have kept up to date until recently and have missed one payment which they have charged me £12 for and also £12 for the privillage of a letter telling me this.

I have missed the payment because of having been in hospital so not just because I didn't fancy paying it

Called them this morning and asked the advisor whether those charges could be removed, and explained about my recent circumstances and she told me to call their insurance department(didn't even know I had insurance) and they may be able to remove the charges.

Well called them and was told that they cannot remove the charges and it is only Very who can.

Has anyone had their charges from Very removed? I know some catalogue companies will remove a charge for goodwill.

Also can I claim back the insurance I have been paying on the account as I can't remember taking it out, and the insurance plan is useless to me.
