Vanquis credit card...need to speak to me??

Hi,
I have really bad credit rating from a few years back but most now paid off bar I think £200 in hubby's name and the mortgage which is paid in full every month!
I've just applied for a vanquis card, 2 reasons really . Mainly to get my credit rating up and also to get a better deal on car hire when we go to Florida later on in the year.
I plan to use the cc each month for groceries and then pay off in full each month. I know I won't let the debt creep up as without wanting to make excuses the only reason we got in debt in the first place was because we had a very sick child and couldn't work but we needed petrol to get to the hospital (100miles) and to feed our other children, we didn't wrack debt up to get designer clothes and posh holidays :D (although it would have been nice :rotfl:)
Anyway, I've applied for a vanquis card and it says 'Congratulations, your application has been successfully submitted , we just need to speak to you Before we can approve your application'
I've also had an email with my credit card agreement attached.
Does this mean I will probably be accepted? Also does anyone know why they need to speak to me??
Thanks x

Vanquis standard procedure for card applications. A real person finalises the application and makes a decision. It's also a way of verifying your telephone number. If you're not at home when they call they will try again a few times and then send you a text message on your mobile phone and an email saying that Vanquis is trying to contact you. They will ask you to phone them quoting the reference number supplied in the message.
  • Great thanks for the reply, any idea how long it takes for them too call? (I'm very impatient :rotfl:)

For me it was 4 days and I had the card and PIN 14 days after that including weekends.
