some buyers....

Just had to share this that someone sent me.

Buyer had questioned delay in posting when there item hadn't been delivered in 2 days but yesterday emailed to say item had finally arrived after almost a week. They went on to rant that if stupid ** sellers couldnt even address an envelope right then they shouldn't be allowed to sell on ebay and just about every seller sent his item to the wrong post code- were they picking on him because he was In NI or are sellers just messing him about for some reason?

You guessed it, postage was printed out via paypal postage and to the exact post code supplied by buyer. So the reason 'all' his sellers were sending to the wrong place was because he had put his postcode in wrongly.

My colleague is now drafting a polite but slightly sarcastic response....

  • Honestly, there should really be an IQ test before you can join eBay, buyer like this are just a total waste of space.
  • eBay has been a bane of my life for the last few months, too many rude people who CANNOT read listings! Then it all falls back on the seller, who they are allowed to give neg feedback to, as eBay puts it "because it's the sellers opinion so we cannot remove the feedback."

I'd send him the link to how he can change his PayPal entry and leave it at that.

    I wouldn't.
If I received an e-mail calling me stupid for incorrectly addressing a package, I would make sure that the buyer in question knew exactly who the real idiot was.

So long as you did it politely. Bad buyers can leave bad feedback too.

My colleague has responded as follows

'So sorry you have been inconvenienced by your item arriving late but am glad it has now arrived safely. When sellers print labels for you they have to use the paypal system and that picks up the address, inclusive of post code, that you entered when you signed up. It would seem therefore that you may have accidentally entered your post code wrongly and it might be worth you amending it to your correct address so that you don't have any more late arrivals, thank you.'

Oh, and buyer in the past month has left 2 neutrals plus 4 positives that mention poorly addressed labels- although overall he has left 19 feedback in total for that same period.
