Clutch / accelerator pedal problem - advice appreciated!
If anyone has any advice I'd be very grateful...
I've got a problem with my Focus when I am changing up, so I've got the clutch out and I'm accelerating. The clutch engages normally, and everthing feels fine until I get to the point where I take my foot off the clutch completely. As I do that, I can feel it affect the accelerator pedal - it feels as if there is something physically connecting the two. My first thought was that it was the car mat, but it is miles away from the pedals, and the pedals come down rather than going up through the floor, so I don't think it is that. Any ideas what it might be? The clutch cable was replaced about six months ago.

Or maybe its because your engine mounts are knackered and the engine
is rocking backwards and forwards?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I'd suggest that you have the 'pedal box' checked for secure mountings - the pedal box is the frame which pedals are mounted to under the dash - it sounds to me like someone may have loosened a bolt or two to replace the clutch cable & failed to tighten things up again.
Failing that, check the routing of the accelerator & clutch cables to make sure they haven't been poorly secured or strapped together.0
