Hi

woke up this morning to check that a 700 payment had gone into my account which it had.only problem is that 2 duplicate visa debit transactions had gone out as well leaving me 1000 overdrawn with no access to my 700. Got on phone straight away and said i had a problem yo which the lady said all your payments havegone.out twice. it seems this has happened to everybody. However that doesn't help me when i need that 700 this morning!

I have the exact same problem, my tax credits went in as normal and they have duplicated several visa card payments and left me with absolutely nothing and its food shopping day so I have nothing to feed the kids with, they are working on a fix at the moment Grrrrrrr

  • Just spoken to Nationwide and they have said it is HIGH PRIORITY to get this fixed, however, when I asked the operator to confirm the money would be returned to my account today he said "I haven't a clue!" does not install confidence. He did tell me to "have a good day" - thanks:mad:

Has happened to me too on two debit card transactions, luckily not such as high value as above but concerning all the same.

Well, considering that the alternative is that they shrug their shoulders and don't work on it I think what you've been told is the best option available.

No the best option available is to credit our accounts with the funds that have been debited in error immediately and let us access OUR money!

For those who have been affected like i have ie with no money at all because of their error they can arrange for you to pick up money from your local branch with ID. As they have let me have enough to last the weekend just in case its not fixed as the latest update from their IT department is that the fix is ongoing.

  • Same thing has happened to me. It looks as if anything leaving the bank on the 24th has also come out again on the 25th. This currently means my Bank balance is £254.85 LESS than it should be. Not amused to say the least.

Same here over £450 duplicated. Advisor was very nice when I phoned but couldnt really give me any real information about when the money would be credited back
  • Same problem again but over £1k duplicated! Lines were jammed but got through eventually and she was very nice but it had all happened that morning and she couldn't say any more than I wouldn't be penalised for the problem. Not good but at least there was a known cause. I was expecting to be bounced between the bank and the payee to work out who was at fault. That would have been 100 times worse!

Remember you can supposedly charge back £10 an hour for your personal time taken to sort this out!!!
