I have an 18" self propelled Honda mower.
It seems like the clutch is not disengaging any more as it wants to start moving as soon as it is started plus when i pull it in reverse the rear wheels are locked.
Any suggestions as to what might be the problem?
Can the clutch be adjusted to fix this problem and if so where is the adjustment mechanism.

Most drives have a belt which runs from the crankshaft to the gearbox on the axle ..the drive is engaged by a jockey wheel which tightens the belt ..If there is a cable that operates this pulley it should be slackened off a little ..
It may be that if you have not used it for some time there could be some corrosion on the pullies causing them not to slip and a little running may fix the problem ..it could also be that the cable is siezed and the spring that pulls the jockey away from the belt to dissengage the drive cannot work properly.
BTW what model is it??

It's a Honda HRG415CSDU ECO model and about 7 years old, have had it from new.Nothing in the instructions about clutch adjustment.
The cable seems to be moving quite smoothly.0 -

Not too familier with this model but can you see a threaded bit on the outer cable where the inner braided cable disappears inside it ...also look on the gearbox to see if the cable fixes to a lever on it..when ever you tip a petrol mower over to do any sort of maintenance you should first switch off the fuel tap and run the engine until it stops...then allways tip the machine over so the air filter is at the highest point..if you don't, petrol and oil will leak onto it and ruin it completely and the engine will run like a pig!
