How to remove egg from paintwork?
Options
Some lowlife had thrown an egg against my car. Luckily the kids nearby informed me straight after. The egg was mainly on the driver's door glass and still fresh/runny. Managed to wipe it off with paper towel and water.
Just wondering if the egg was on the paintwork and was left to dry how difficult is it to remove? What is the best method for removal? Can remember reading somewhere that it may require a respray.

Maybe my answer comes a little late.Hope that can help you.
Clean them with a wet cotton towel.
If dry,use special detergent like and the towel.0 -
If it's been baking in the hot sun, it may be difficult to remove."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

My old headteacher's Toyota car was egged when a rowdy Y6 lot left school. That needed respraying.Don't grow up. Its a trap!

I would imagine that those tissues made to remove bird lime from car bodywork would work well on dried egg.
Around here, they used to throw eggs at the smokeboxes of the steam engines on the Severn Valley Railway and they used to set rock hard with the heat."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
When the local chavlings threw eggs at my windows one Halloween, I found that biological washing liquid in warm (not hot) water was an effective way of getting it off. Not sure if it would work on a car - certainly I'd want to test it on an inconspicuous bit of paintwork first.0
