Hi there, ive been with my bank 3 years, and I get my salary paid in every month, I did have defaults, They were removed several days ago after six years, I checked my Experian account, and they had been removed, I have a credit card, and a mobile phone contract.
I went to the bank today, to upgrade my account, I was offered a current account with a 2k overdraft, but the banker had to refer it to head office, they declined, the bank was Clydesdale, according to Experian, my credit score is 700, there are no missed payments, defaults, etc, I have a small limit vanquis credit card.
I am struggling to ask why the branch said yes, and head office said no.
Any advice, the only negative, was not on the voters roll, but the bank have been dealing with me for 3 years, and ive had a small savings account for 10 years

Why do you want such a large overdraft?
It may well have been referred to head office after a conditional acceptance. They then did further checks and decided they did not want to lend that much.
Experian's credit score is meaningless, by the way. Your overall financial conduct and the actual content of your credit file is far more important.urs sinserly,
