why is your mortgage paymet being doubled. Util you complete you have no mortgage to pay, so it will not double.

You rent and want an overlap so it's not a new cost, you now want the seller to pay for this so you can have a new bathroom before moving in?

    I've been Money Tipped!
For what it's worth most properties tend to complete on a Friday for some reason

    What are our options?

    1. Ask seller to split our extra costs?

    2. Suggest completing on the 31st but let him come back for the rest of his stuff on the 3rd? ( under our supervision)

    3. Delay completing till later in August?

Means you don't get any higher mortgage charges/payments in the 1st month and means you could still get you're desired overlap between rental and new home. Just requires a bit more patience.

Or you may find that if you suggest this then the seller may suddenly be able to complete on 31st July ;)

there are no higher charges/payments. Less in fact as assuming is a capital repyament mortgage the first part month is interest only so by delaying the OP is simply having less interest to pay.
