Looked at both the Roadhawk and Blackvue but was wondering if anyone used the cheaper eBay ones.
Want auto record and possible GPS and above all good quality video, seems the ones mentioned above would have trouble reading number plates.

Because they can be very very handy in providing evidence in the event of a claim, or even just witnessing an accident.
IIRC they record on a continuous loop whilst noting your speed, and GPS positions, then they save the last 30-60 seconds more permanently when you either press a button, or it detects a sharp shock (IE a collision).
The idea is that they copy some of the functions you see on Police car cams, and can be used to help show what happened.0 -
I have had a Roadhawk for two years with no problems.
As an elderly driver it gives me peace of mind.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -

Thank you.
Yes. Good quality. If anything was to happen to it I would not hesitate in getting a replacement.
Have a look on the Roadhawk website.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -

Out of interest how does it give you peace of mind?
What benefits do you feel you get from having it?
I have looked at the websites etc but would be interested in the thoughts of a real world user.0 -
As an older driver, if involved in an accident I would in all probability be held responsable, especially if the other driver had friends in the car (Read some of the posts on here)

I wonder how this would perform as a simple video recorder?
Have emailed the seller for more details.Google gives you answers use it.........0 -
The Roadhawk records. Time, speed, and where you are by satellite information.
It also makes you consider your own driving skills.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0
