Skype Pro

Has anyone used this?

At first glance it looked like a good deal. Something like £8 for 5 months of unlimited calls to 01 and 02 numbers in the UK, and coupled with a £50 wi-fi skype phone could work really well.

But I can't see any prices for after the first 5 months. I'm a bit wary of shelling out for a wi-fi phone and then finding out it costs a lot more than £8 the next time round!

  • I use it at the moment. You don't have to take the Skype phone, you can still use Skype in the traditional (pc-landline) format. There are other wi-fi phones available.

The £8 for 5 months renews at £1.50 (excl VAT) after the initial 5 months.

    Hope this helps

Renews at £1.50? Is this per month, I take it?

Unsure over a Wi-Fi phone or a DECT phone... I think DECT is probably better in terms of battery life, but does the base station of these need to be plugged into the PC, or can it go into my router?

Have a look at https://www.voipbusterpro.com much better value than Skype, plus you can use a SIP device so no over priced Skype equipment needed to make calls without a PC.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

SkypePro is only for calls to UK landlines, not foreign ones. Judging by complaints on the Skype forums, some people may have been a bit taken in by potential ambiguities in the wording.

So use any of the Betamax VoIP companies instead
