Ebay messages

I have read the odd comment on here saying that they are that reliable but I have sent messages to six sellers, sometimes more than one and had one reply. I went on to order my item of this seller and now it hasn't shown up - guess what? not answering any messages. I am beginning to think I have a skill for picking out sellers who aren't very chatty

I always answer messages unless someone is making a silly offer on an item, then I don't bother.
Messages do occasionally go awol but I think that most get through...
Best way to get the sellers attention if your item has not turned up and they are not answering is to open a case!0 -
I don't think the unreliability sits with the eBay message system. There are both good and inefficient sellers on eBay - I suspect you've just been unlucky enough to run into a succession of the latter type."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

I find that on my business seller account only about half the messages sent through the ebay message system get forwarded to my email. So on the rare day that I have no sales and don't log onto my ebay account I may miss a message from a customer until the next time I log on and see it waiting in the message box.
Otherwise, as soon as I know I have a query from a customer I respond, even at 2am if I happen to be logged on, which surprised one person when they got an immediate response at that time!0 -
Well going to give them untill Friday and then open a case if the item isn't here. Most notably, its the businesses who aren't responding, which says to me that if they can't answer a question then their customer service skills must be dire, and makes me want to keep my cash well away from them.0
