Student & Graduate Bank Accounts

I hope this is ok to be in here & not the Student Forum, I'm hoping I'll get more replies in here
Currently I have a Graduate Bank Account, with a £1000 interest free overdraft. It was more, but as the years go on, a bit gets cut off and the interest free gets less. I am £1600 into my overdraft.
I am looking to go back to Uni in Sept to do a HND (& then a top up afterwards to make it a degree). I've been looking into Student Accounts & my options are: Ask HSBC to turn my Grad Account back into a Student Account & hope they give me my £1600 interest free overdraft back.. Or look elsewhere.
I'm intrigued by the Co Operative Student Bank Account, but their terms state that I have to move my Student Account to them.. Does this include Grad Accounts as well? Co Op offer a £1400 immediate interest free overdraft, would that just get wiped out by my current £1600 HSBC Overdraft? Ideally, I'd prefer not to move it over. I want to make payments to my HSBC Account & pay off my overdraft, but I need some money now to ease the financial burden until I start Uni & get my loans etc.
Any advice on this would be great. Starting Uni with debts is difficult & I had a job until Monday when my boss called me drunk & fired me. Yeah, he's a swell guy. It's left me in a really bad position.. When it rains, it pours & my OH & I have a lot of things that need paying for before September.
